Report from El Milagro "Roca Firme"

The following are excerpts from a report by Pastor Francisco Canul Maldonado for the work at El Milagro "Roca Firme" in the months of September and October, 2006.

"Visits: I visited the homes of all the members, taking more time with those who have not been attending and those who attend regularly. We have seen good results from the visits, as some are attending again. We continue to invite new people moving to the area. We have been preparing for the evangelism campaign called "My Hope." We have been given instruction to the next 6 people who will be baptized soon.

Building: Thanks to God's help, we have been able to put a roof on in the bathrooms. We hope to lay the floor in the bathrooms next. We look forward with energy and optimism to continue the work of what eventually will be the sanctuary. We have built a screen on which we plan to show movies; we only need the projector. We are still working on the idea of using the classrooms for children's daycare weekday mornings.

I thank you for your prayers for this place and for those who gather here.

In fraternal love your friend

Francisco Javier Canul Maldonado

God bless you."

News from Nicte Ha

The following are excerpts from the report Pastor Manases May Can made regarding work at Nicte Ha "Mount of Olives" church during September and October 2006.

"Pastoral work: In September my family and I made 12 visits (for a variety of needs). In October we made 8 pastoral visits for counseling and discipleship.
We have been dealing with the flooding problem in our lot.

Evangelism: Preparation and implementation of the project "My Hope." Prayer meeting to pray for the project. We presented the message of the gospel in two sermons and five people made the decision to follow Christ.

Discipleship: "Abundant Light" course started with 9 students who had previously completed "abundant Life" course. We continue lesson on John with 3 families, and we continue lessons on "How to Preach" with 3 students. We have had craft lessons Thursday evenings.

Interpersonal relations: On Sept. 16 we had a "Mexican Night" and we invited friends and neighbors for a celebration of Mexican Independence. We had music and games. The Women's Circle has visited 4 homes to invite them to continue attending church. The youth had a fellowship meeting and Bible study on the beach. We had a cleaning day at the church.

Program and Worship: We had elections for the Board (Directiva). With Rev. Josue Chan officiating on Oct. 22, we received five new members, celebrated communion and had the presentation of a baby.

We give thanks to our God and Father for his faithfulness and kindness towards the Nicte-ha congregation. It is our desire to glorify him for his wonders in the transformation of humankind and his church. We have seen how our ministries are taking shape, people are participating according to their gifts.
We must admit that we have fallen short in other areas, and so we continue to pray for our work in evangelism, stewardship of our income, which has been stagnant. However, our trust is set on the Lord who moves hearts and builds his kingdom. To him be the glory.

Sincerely,

Manases May
